The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Morris County in northern New Jersey...
Northern Hunterdon County in northwestern New Jersey...
Warren County in northwestern New Jersey...
* Until 530 PM EDT.
* At 226 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain in western portions of Warren and Hunterdon Counties.
Rainfall rates over 2 inches per hour have been reported in these
storms. As these storms continue to move northeast, eastern
portions of Warren County, as well as northern portions of
Hunterdon County and western portions of Morris County, will
experience heavy rain and flash flooding as well.
* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Hackettstown, Washington, Mendham, High Bridge, Stanhope, Netcong,
Clinton, Belvidere, Harmony, Oxford, Hope, Glen Gardner, Chester,
Hampton, Frenchtown, Lebanon, Milford, Califon, Bloomsbury and
Riegelsville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
