The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas
  for...
  East central Somerset County in northern New Jersey...
  North central Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...

* Until 130 PM EDT.

* At 1037 AM EDT, 2 to 3 inches of rain that fell earlier this
  morning due to thunderstorms caused flash flooding with multiple
  water rescues in the North Plainfield area. The threat for flash
  flooding has diminished as the heavy rain ended several hours ago.
  However, minor flooding will persist in poor drainage areas late
  this morning and possibly into early this afternoon.

* Green Brook near Plainfield quickly crested to near 8.2 feet
  around 930 AM, but has since fallen below flood stage of 8 feet.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
  Somerville, Middlesex, Bound Brook, Manville, Millstone,
  Martinsville, North Plainfield, Dunellen, Watchung and South Bound
  Brook.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
