...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT EARLY THIS
MORNING...
...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO
8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Dense
Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 6 AM EDT early this
morning.
* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.
* WINDS...Southwest to west-northwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts up
to 50 mph.
* TIMING...Dense fog has developed and will continue through the
overnight hours before gradually improving after sunrise.
Southwest winds will increase Wednesday morning, then quickly
shift to the west-northwest as a strong cold front crosses the
area late in the morning into the early afternoon. A line of
showers with embedded thunderstorms will move through with the
front, and this could bring localized wind gusts to 50 mph or
greater. Following the passage of the cold front, widespread
west-northwest winds gusting 40 to 50 mph will occur through
Wednesday afternoon before diminishing in the early evening.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Limited
visibilities will make travel very difficult.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Wind Advisory means that very windy conditions are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor
objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be
secured.
A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down...
use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
