...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.
* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* TIMING...Southwest winds will increase Wednesday morning ahead
of a strong cold front which will cross the area west to east
through the late morning into the early afternoon. A line of
showers with the chance of thunderstorms will move through with
the front and this could bring localized wind gusts to 50 mph or
greater as it moves through. Following the passage of the front,
widespread west winds gusting 40 to 50 mph will occur through
Wednesday afternoon before diminishing in the early evening.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Wind Advisory means that very windy conditions are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor
objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be
secured.
