...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT
FOR BERKS...LEHIGH...SOUTHEASTERN CARBON AND SOUTHWESTERN NORTHAMPTON
COUNTIES...

At 431 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Leesport to near Claussville, moving northeast at
30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar and spotter indicated. At 405 PM, large hail to the
         size of quarters was reported in Wernersville.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

These severe storms will be near...
  Claussville around 435 PM EDT.
  Ancient Oaks around 440 PM EDT.
  Lenhartsville, Coffeetown and Schnecksville around 445 PM EDT.
  Allentown, Emmaus, Lyons and Neffs around 450 PM EDT.
  Kutztown around 455 PM EDT.
  Bethlehem, Northampton, Bath, Topton, Steuben, Beersville and
  Lehigh University around 500 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include
Wyomissing Hills, Chapman, West Lawn, Alburtis, Coplay, Fountain
Hill, Fullerton, West Reading, Hokendauqua and Bowmanstown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes in addition
to straight-line wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor
of a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds...frequent cloud to
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors
immediately. Remember...if you can hear thunder...you are close
enough to be struck by lightning.
