...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of northern New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania,
including the following areas, in northern New Jersey, Morris,
Sussex, and Warren. In Pennsylvania, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and
Northampton.
* From Sunday afternoon through late Sunday night
* Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected develop from south to
north Sunday afternoon and continue into Sunday night.
Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are forecast along and north
of Interstate 80. Locally higher amounts of 5 inches or
greater are possible if thunderstorms develop and move over
the same locations.
* Heavy rainfall occurring in short period of time would result
in rapidly rising water levels along streams and creeks. Poor
drainage, which is common this time of year due to leaf
debris, could exacerbate flooding. Localized roadway flooding
is possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
Check for blocked drainages caused by fallen leaves and remove
debris before the heavy rain arrives.
