...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SATURDAY
TO 6 AM EDT SUNDAY...
* LOCATIONS...Berks County, the southern Poconos, the Lehigh
Valley, and adjacent northwest New Jersey.
* HAZARD TYPES...Snow and maybe some light freezing rain.
* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 2 to 6 inches, along with
around a trace to a tenth of an inch of ice. The highest
accumulations of snow and ice are expected in the higher
elevations. There may be considerable melting on pavement during
the daylight hours, especially treated pavements.
* TIMING...Intermittent mostly light snow is expected to begin
Saturday morning toward sunrise and become heavier late in the
day and early Saturday night. There could be a period of
freezing rain or drizzle during late morning or early afternoon.
The most significant impact from this winter weather event
should occur between 5 PM Saturday and 5 AM Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Snow and ice accumulations will create slippery
driving conditions, especially Saturday evening and night.
* WINDS...East 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...In the mid 20s to lower 30s.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
