...WINTRY PRECIPITATION CONTINUES TO TAPER OFF THIS AFTERNOON ...

At 1 PM...the back edge of steady snow and sleet was quickly
lifting northward through northern New Jersey. Another band of
light snow over central Pennsylvania and central Maryland will
move through the region during the mid afternoon but little
additional snowfall accumulations is expected.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has cancelled the
Winter Weather Advisory.

The back edge of the light rain and snow will move through
southeastern New Jersey early this afternoon with no additional
accumulations expected. A few icy spots on untreated secondary
roads and sidewalks are possible away from the coast where
temperatures are near freezing.

At 1 PM...one last band of light snow crossing the Chesapeake Bay
will move into eastern Maryland between now and 230 PM. Additional
snowfall accumulations will be less than a half inch.

...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

* LOCATIONS...Eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and strong winds.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 18 to 24 inches, along
  with around a trace of ice.

* TIMING...At 115 PM, the back edge of the heavier snow and sleet
  was lifting northward along and north of I-80 in northwestern
  New Jersey. Lingering light snow and perhaps pockets of freezing
  drizzle will continue over the area through the late afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow that fell will make many roads
  treacherous and impassable. The weight of the snow on tree
  limbs and power lines could produce isolated outages. Strong
  winds will lead to blowing snow, reduced visibility, and
  additional power outages.

* WINDS...North 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* VISIBILITIES...One-quarter mile at times early this afternoon,
  slowly improving over the next few hours.

* TEMPERATURES...In the 20s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This Blizzard Warning means that severe winter weather conditions
are occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and
poor visibility are likely. This will lead to white-out
conditions making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel if at
all possible. If you must travel...have a winter survival kit
with you. If you get stranded...stay with your vehicle.

* HAZARD TYPES...Snow, sleet and freezing drizzle this afternoon.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Additional snowfall accumulations under one inch
  and additional ice accumulations up to a trace. Storm total
  snowfall will range from 3 to 6 inches, along with around one
  quarter to one third of an inch of ice.

* TIMING...At 115 PM...the steady precipitation has moved to the
  northeast. Pockets of freezing drizzle may develop through 3 PM.
  An additional band of snow over central Pennsylvania and central
  Maryland will move through the region between 230 and 400 PM
  but any additional snowfall accumulations will be minor.

* IMPACTS...Ice and snow accumulations will create treacherous
  driving conditions. The weight of the ice and snow on tree limbs
  and power lines could produce numerous outages. Strong winds
  will continue to produce power outages.

* WINDS...North 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* TEMPERATURES...In the lower 30s.
