URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...A MAJOR WINTER STORM WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT OUR REGION...

.Low pressure located over eastern North Carolina early this
morning will move northeastward. The low is forecast to pass
across the waters off Delaware and New Jersey today before
reaching southeastern New England this evening. The storm will
bring hazardous conditions to much of our region. Blizzard
conditions are likely for a few hours in eastern Pennsylvania and
northern New Jersey where snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour
are possible.

* LOCATIONS...Eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and strong winds.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 18 to 24 inches.

* TIMING...Heavy snow will continue through the morning and into
  part of the afternoon. Snowfall rates of three to four inches
  per hour are possible for several hours this morning. The snow
  will diminish late in the day.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
  may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
  snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
  blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power
  outages. Conditions will be life threatening to those who do
  not take the appropriate precautions.

* WINDS...Northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* VISIBILITIES...Less than one-quarter mile for several hours.

* TEMPERATURES...Mainly in the 20s.
