MONDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include the Lehigh Valley and Berks County
in eastern Pennsylvania, and far northwestern New Jersey.
* Monday afternoon and evening
* Showers and thunderstorms on Monday will contain torrential
downpours. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be common with
localized totals of 3 to 4 inches possible. The bulk of these
rainfall amounts could fall in a very short period. The heaviest
rain will likely fall during the afternoon and early evening.
* Flash flooding of creeks, streams and roadways will be possible,
especially in urban and poor drainage areas.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Please monitor the forecast today and Monday for updated
information. Be prepared to take action should Flash Flood
Warnings be issued on Monday.
