...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM EDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL NEW CASTLE...SOUTHEASTERN MONTGOMERY...NORTHEASTERN
CHESTER...NORTHWESTERN PHILADELPHIA AND DELAWARE COUNTIES...

At 541 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Phoenixville to Marshallton, moving east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Philadelphia, West Chester, Norristown, Chester, Phoenixville, West
Norriton, Westtown, Downingtown, Conshohocken, Swarthmore,
Jenkintown, Narberth, East Lansdowne, Arden, Cheyney, Morris Park,
Elam, Bryn Mawr, Marshallton and Trout Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

In addition damaging winds...frequent cloud to ground lightning is
occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember...if
you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by
lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flooding in poor drainage areas. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.
