...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM EDT FOR CENTRAL BERKS COUNTY...

At 358 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms entering west central Berks County. One or two of
these storms should enter this advisory area by 430 PM and should
cause minor flooding.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Reading, Wyomissing, Shillington, West Reading, Mount Penn, Mohnton,
Kenhorst, St. Lawrence, Lorane, Reiffton and Flying Hills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from any heavy rainfall will cause flooding of
small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low
lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
