...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING
THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Rising between 100 and 105 degrees on
Thursday due to temperatures in the middle 90s and dew point
readings in the lower 70s.
* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity will have a negative impact on
individuals who work outdoors. Also, the elderly and those with
pre-existing health conditions may be affected by the excessive
heat.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of very hot
and humid conditions is expected. It will create a dangerous
situation in which heat related health issues may develop,
especially for those who work outdoors, and for the elderly and
those with pre-existing health issues. Drink plenty of fluids,
stay out of the sunlight and in an air-conditioned location if
possible and be sure to check on elderly relatives and neighbors.
