...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR WESTERN NORTHAMPTON COUNTY IS
CANCELLED...

The storms which prompted the warning have passed west of the
area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 800 PM EST for
eastern Pennsylvania. A severe thunderstorm watch also remains in
effect until 900 PM EST for eastern and northeastern Pennsylvania.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 400 PM EST
FOR NORTHERN BERKS...NORTHWESTERN LEHIGH AND SOUTHERN CARBON
COUNTIES...

At 348 PM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near McKeansburg to near Snyders, moving northeast at
50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

These severe storms will be near...
  Lehighton, Palmerton, Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning, New Mahoning and
  Beltzville State Park around 400 PM EST.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include
Weissport, Parryville, Lansford, Summit Hill, Weissport East and
Bowmanstown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds...frequent cloud to
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors
immediately. Remember...if you can hear thunder...you are close
enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
