...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
TO 4 PM EST THURSDAY...
* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches..
* LOCATIONS...Eastern Pennsylvania and central and northern New
Jersey.
* HAZARD TYPES...Sleet and heavy snow.
* TIMING...A wintry mix will overspread the area from the west
near midnight reaching the northern New Jersey coast by 4 am.
The event will likely begin as snow north of the I-78 corridor.
Elsewhere, rain will change over to snow from northwest to
southeast into early Thursday morning. Sleet may mix in briefly
during the transition from rain to snow. The snow likely will be
heavy for a time Thursday morning before tapering off from west
to east through the early afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable. The
combination of heavy snow and gusty winds may produce some
power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and
power lines.
* WINDS...North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...Falling into the 20s over most of this area
during the snow before a slight recovery in the afternoon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight...
food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

THURSDAY...
* LOCATIONS...Northeastern Maryland, northern Delaware,
southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.
* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches.
* HAZARD TYPES...Sleet and heavy snow.
* TIMING...Rain will overspread the area between midnight and 3 AM
Thursday and change to sleet and then snow from northwest to
southeast by dawn Thursday. The snow should be heavy at times
Thursday morning before tapering off from west to east through
early afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads. The combination
of heavy snow and gusty winds may produce some power outages due
to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines.
* WINDS...North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...Falling into the upper 20s to around 30 during
the snow then a slight afternoon recovery.

* LOCATIONS...a portion of northeast Maryland through central
Delaware into the southern tip of New Jersey.
* HAZARD TYPES...Snow and sleet.
* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches.
* TIMING...heaviest snow should fall sometime between 8 am and
Noon.
* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will create snow covered roads and
produce scattered power outages. Strong winds will lead to
blowing snow...reduced visibility...and additional power
outages.
* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...falling to near 30 during the snow then
recovering slightly during the afternoon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
