The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Northwestern New Castle County in northern Delaware...
Cecil County in northeastern Maryland...
Southwestern Chester County in southeastern Pennsylvania...
* Until 500 PM EDT
* At 105 PM EDT...Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen in some areas in the last hour with additional
rainfall occurring. Another inch or more could fall in the next
hour or two which could cause minor flooding. Be alert for ponding
and areas of water on roadways and poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Newark, Elkton, Calvert, New Castle, Oxford, North East, West
Grove, Rising Sun, Charlestown, Glen Roy, Zion, Blake, Barksdale,
Stanton, North Star, Glasgow, Bear, West Nottingham, Octoraro and
Brantwood.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...urban areas...highways...streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
