...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTH CENTRAL NEW CASTLE...
SOUTHEASTERN CHESTER AND SOUTHWESTERN DELAWARE COUNTIES...

At 557 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Elam, or near
West Chester, moving northeast at 15 mph.

Winds up to 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, West Chester, Westtown, Elsmere, Kennett Square, Newport,
Arden, Cheyney, Talleyville, Elam, Lima, Chelsea, Ashland,
Gradyville, Greenville, Concordville, Hockessin, Nether Providence
Township, Chester Township and North Star.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized poor drainage flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is also occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
