...Thunderstorms with heavy rains...

A large area of showers and thunderstorms extends across eastern
and southern New Jersey at 555 pm. The area will continue to move
to the east at 10 to 15 mph.

You can expect downpours, small hail and local wind gusts up to 40
mph at times through 630 PM.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this area of showers, and
may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring in these areas.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a
safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. If you are at the beach
in these areas, keep a watch to the sky and go indoors if threatening
weather approaches.
