...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT EAST CENTRAL MERCER...
SOUTHEASTERN SOMERSET...NORTHERN MONMOUTH AND MIDDLESEX COUNTIES...

At 339 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Dayton, or 8
miles southwest of New Brunswick, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Winds up to 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East
Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret,
Matawan, Jamesburg, Hightstown, Cranbury, Princeton Meadows, Colonia,
Brownville, Dayton, Plainsboro Center and North Brunswick Township.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
