...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT WEST CENTRAL MORRIS...
SOUTHWESTERN SUSSEX AND NORTHEASTERN WARREN COUNTIES...
At 332 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Blairstown, or
11 miles southwest of Newton, moving east at 20 mph.
Winds up to 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Newton, Hopatcong, Hackettstown, Blairstown, Mount Arlington,
Stanhope, Netcong, Hope, Andover, Great Meadows-Vienna,
Allamuchy-Panther Valley, Lake Mohawk, Succasunna, Succasunna-Kenvil,
Greendell, Budd Lake and Beatyestown.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
