Chuck, Al, et al,

My hope was to be able to say this at the meeting however I was on vacation. I would like to take this opportunity to publically - or at least through this list, thank you for your service and dedication. 

Being the MRIC Chair is neither the high paying nor glamorous position it seems to be yet you willingly and without hesitation took the challenge. The same can be said for being our county's first Emergency Management sanctioned RO. You consistently check your ego at the door and realize emergency communications is about public safety and service without personal agendas. My hope is the committee continues the work started and I look forward to making progress in the credentialing and resource typing arenas.

Thank you for your time and service to the public. I appreciate your candor, have valued your advice and feel honored to consider you a friend; Godspeed in the next chapter of your life.

Minutes for October 13, 2012 Meeting
  
Location: Howard County

The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by the Chair.

An agenda was presented for the meeting as follows:

- Welcome, Attendance and Introductions
- Minutes from April Meeting Review and Approval
- Update RO Contact Info
- Update MD RACES Frequency List
- Uniform Credentialing and Resource Typing
- April Meeting Location
- Election of MRIC Chair
- Health and Welfare
- Adjournment

A Master copy of the MRIC RACES Contact List was circulated for changes by
attending representatives and returned to the Chair for amendment and
distribution.  No changes were made.

A Master copy of the MRIC RACES Frequency List was circulated for changes by
attending representatives and returned to the Chair for amendment and
distribution.  No changes were made.

The chair thanked Howard County representatives for securing the meeting
site. 

A motion was properly made, seconded and passed to approve the minutes from
the April 21, 2012 MRIC meeting.

Al Fitzsimons announced several new ROs including Calvert and Dorchester
counties.

A discussion was held concerning the issue of uniform credentialing and
resource typing.  Al Fitzsimons made a presentation prepared by Committee
Chair Hank Black that included two options for the group to consider.  After
discussion it was decided that the subcommittee would continue their work
and present to the next meeting in April.  Bill Clark, ARO of Kent was added
to the committee.

Jurisdictional updates were presented from Queen Anne's, Anne Arundel,
Howard, Kent, Montgomery and Prince Georges.

The election of the new MRIC Chair was held under the direction of the
outgoing Chair.  Frank Winner Anne Arundel RO was nominated and accepted
nomination. Being the only nominee, the Chair proclaimed Mr. Winner elected
by unanimous consent without objection.

There being no further business a motion was properly made, seconded and
passed to adjourn the meeting to reconvene again on April 20, 2013 at 10:30
a.m. at Howard County EOC or another site to be determined and communicated
prior to the next scheduled meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
