[MRIC] Hold the Date for our Next Meeting -- April 23rd

Dear Maryland RACES Officers:

Just a reminder to hold Saturday, April 23, 2011 open for our next MRIC
meeting.  

Following the past practice for these meetings, we will meet from 10:30 a.m.
until 3:00 p.m.  We were originally going to meet on the campus of UMBC, but
if a centrally located jurisdiction would like to host the meeting, I think
it would be better for us.  I would like to see us meeting within our own
turf as much as possible. I will also make every attempt to find a location
for our meetings that is as accessible to everyone as timing and scheduling
options permit.

Several other notes:

I have met with MEMA President Kristin McMenamin about ways this committee
can support MEMA and we will be discussing several ideas with all of you at
the April meeting.

I have met with Brett Hammond and I have all of information and records for
the committee.  I want to thank Brett for a very orderly transition and for
his years of service as chair.

It is my plan to visit each RACES jurisdiction during the coming year.  If
several adjacent jurisdictions would like to meet at the same time, that
will be appreciated.  These will be informal visits to support MRIC, RACES
and your work and for me to get to know all of you better. Evenings or
weekends are fine, just let me know what works best for you.

I will forward the draft agenda and minutes from the previous meeting in
early April for your review.

If there are any additions or corrections to the contact list, please
forward those to me.

If anyone is interested in serving as secretary and taking minutes at the
next meeting, please let me know. I would like to be able to focus on
facilitating our work during the meeting.

Please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss any aspect of MRIC or
RACES. Also, let me know when and where you might be interested in meeting
with me.

I feel honored to be associated with all of you and I am looking forward to
serving as your chair.
