All:
I would like to know why the unapproved and outdated January 24, 2009
version of the MRIC "Amateur Radio Interoperability Recommendations for
Maryland Jurisdictions" is being distributed to the members of the Maryland
Emergency Management Association in lieu of the more current and MRIC
membership approved April 25, 2009 version. The January 24, 2009 version of
the document was not approved by the MRIC membership to be presented to the
Maryland Emergency Managers Association at the Association's next meeting.
The April 25, 2009 version was voted upon and approved by MRIC to be
presented to the Emergency Managers Association.
After much discussion and voting, it was decided by a two thirds majority of
those present at the April 25, 2009 meeting to revise several sections of
Appendix A in order to better serve our jurisdictions.
I ask that your Emergency Managers be made aware that the January 24, 2009
MRIC "Amateur Radio Interoperability Recommendations for Maryland
Jurisdictions" document is not the document that was voted on and approved
for distribution to the Emergency Managers Association.
It is the April 25, 2009 majority approved version of the MRIC "Amateur
Radio Interoperability Recommendations for Maryland Jurisdictions" document
that should have been distributed to the Emergency Managers Association for
consideration.
