Hi West-Coasters.....FYI. We would like to try a coast-to-coast sked
using military radio gear as Ray describes below...
We almost made it at the SLO event last May but I got distracted and was a
bit late. (We *did* hear Ray calling...18,145 kc as I recall)
17 meters USB is probably our best freq for that time of day, he was
running a GRC-106.
Heads up, save the date.
Ray: I plan to be on the air at the agreed upon sked, possibly from a
portable site (PRC-174, 20 watts and a dipole..). Sounds like a
plan..Thanks!

Looks like Saturday September 23rd may be the best time for us to attempt
to do the cross country thing. The annual MRCA Gilbert PA show is that
Friday and Saturday and was thinking that maybe I can set up around 1400
local that would be 1100 your time and try again? If that works for you
will add that to the list of planed ops for Saturday and perhaps we can get
a couple other stations in between to take part?
Still planning on seventeen meters, this time will give you my telephone
number in advance, 443-648-6060 so we can text if there are any issues.
Let me know what you think.
