Ha!  A few eons ago I saw an ad in one of the defense electronics trade
journals.  It featured a soldier in "heavy combat" talking into a handset
connected to the PRC-77 on his back.  I noticed that the function switch
was in the "OFF" position - so I sent them a note on how impressed I was
with their radio - works while being turned off, battery saver mode, or
some other "cute" remark.  They sent me a note back, thanking me for my
sharp eye - and the note came in a package which included a nice Revell
B-17 plastic model kit ( ! ) - to thank me for my trouble.  (It is
currently hanging above my Command Set...)
They subsequently pulled that ad....  HiHi..
