I had a UGC-144. Sold it at Dayton one of the last years it was at Hara. It was working fine until I went to demonstrate it to the buyer and it let the smoke out right in front of the buyer! Well, lets just say I had to give a DEEP discount for him to take it off my hands.

I have a UGC-144 on my to-do list. I put it on static display at MRCG about an eternity ago. It has some dead display columns and rows, and it complains "Unable to boot from any device". The gas strut for the cover was bad, and it was not one of the sizes I could easily get at McMaster-Carr. However, I got a strut that was just a tiny bit too long, and machined the removable end fittings a little bit to shorten it. If I recall correctly, I don't have any documentation for this terminal, so I'll be going in blind when it makes it back to my workbench.
