[MRCG] MRCG West Coast Meet 2020

That sounds like a good idea to me. I have booked a motel for this year and
was planning on attending, but give my age and the situation I do not plan
on it until things improve. An online meeting with Zoom, go-to-meeting or
something would be a good idea if we can pull it off.

I think we should cancel the physical meet at the beginning of May, but
still plan on a bunch of on-air (and maybe also virtual?) fun for that
weekend. Looking at how things have progressed where the virus first landed,
I don't think everything will have settled down by then. And let's face
it... most of our group is in a higher risk category for this virus.

It'll be nice if we can hold a meeting late in the year. Maybe we should
just play that by ear for now? I've seen some speculation of a possible
second wave, much like what happened with the Spanish Flu, so I'm a bit
leery of committing to anything in the next year. :)

I'd be happy to get Clatternet up and running again if there's interest.

This email list is a fine place for us to continue to be connected even
while we're hunkering in our radio shacks. If anybody is interested in a
more real-time online chat, I could put up a topical Discord(*) chat server
easily enough; either something specifically MRCG-related, or something with
a general focus on military surplus technology. I don't know if that's
really needed, since we already have all sorts of related mailing lists and
forums; I'm just throwing the idea out to see if anybody wants it to happen.

(*) Discord is an online text and/or voice chat platform which is mostly
focused on computer gaming. It gets used for a lot of off-label stuff, too.
I am on several Discord servers related to vintage computer collecting, for
example.
