submarine" – USS Catfish in Argentine service as "ARA Santa Fe" *

Hi Hue - I've been playing with my AN/APR--1 radar surveillance receiver.
In researching its use, they were aboard Subs/Shipboard (as the SPR-1).
Including the USS Batfish which used it to help ID and sink the IJN Sub
RO-115 and probably 2 others. The Australian Army also had a special unit
that was equipped with the APR-1 in ground Ops in the Phillipine op area to
detect, identify and locate Japanese shore based radars. Altho not part of
the Coastwatcher Service per-se, they operated in a similar manner.
