I think that "too hot" and "spouse would kill me" are valid excuses. My excuse is that my trade included some military radio parts amongst the silly old computer items. :)

I recently added a portable A/C to my radio room. It's not as deluxe as a mini-split, but at least it's a dual  hose kind so it's a lot more efficient than the more common single hose kind. Dual hose models circulate outside air through the condenser; single hose ones cool the condenser with inside are that they just went to a bunch of effort to cool... dumb! Home Depot and Lowes just appear to carry single hose units. I ordered mine from the Amazon.
