[MRCG] Net QRM

As we know, one way to beat this problem is with antennas designed for NVIS
(which includes frequency and time of day..): Horizontal wires or
preferably horizontal dipoles about 30-40' up on 80 meters. They radiate
AND receive well straight up and down for local, inside a few hundred miles
very well, as for MRCG nets. Maybe even more important, they also have
very low gain to/from signals arriving at low angles from very distant
stations like that SSB stuff arriving as the band "goes long"...They won't
hear much from my NVIS antenna signals either. Win-Win. Easy! Verticals
or diagonal slant-wires are a problem for regional contacts, supports
availability of course an issue...
Putting a half-wave wire on the ground directly under a dipole can improve
performance considerably if your local soil is very dry/non-conductive.
It's the in-phase ground-bounce adding to the antenna radiation that
produces the results...A 2 element Yagi pointed straight up...
73 and good luck in the contest...!
