Hi Ray - OK on getting your gear organized...I understand!!
A 100 watt RATT signal to a dipole on 40 or especially 30 meters should be
easy cross-continent, no big amp necessary.  I routinely work the east
coast on 40 meters with 10 watt Mil CW sets so it's do-able given the right
time / prop window...
Keep us informed, I can run a test pretty easily when you are ready.  A few
others out here can also come up on freq..
