I've had a copy of Buzz Harrah KE0MS's BC-348 FAQ hosted on my web site for about the last 20 years (holy crap, I'm old!):
http://www.nf6x.net/1999/02/bc-348-faq/ <http://www.nf6x.net/1999/02/bc-348-faq/>
Every now and then, somebody finds that page on my site and comes to the understandable but mistaken conclusion that I know a lot about the BC-348. This evening was one of those times. Below is a message I received from Charlie W4MEC, asking about an RCA BC-348C with another tag that says "Modified by Belmont BC348-S". Do any of y'all know anything about radios marked like this? I wonder whether this is typical for a BC-348S, i.e. maybe Belmont created the "S" models by retrofitting earlier models?
