Subject: Re: [MRCG] MRCG 2018 HF Radio Exercise Survey
I'll bring a SINCGARS manpack for nearly full-time operation on 51.0 MHz FM
+ 150 Hz tone squelch while on-site, and a PRC-70 for HF AM/USB plus 6m
backup during operating exercises. I should also have RTTY capability if I'm
near an AC outlet.
Since we're probably going to be spread out on the museum grounds during the
event, I'd like to encourage folks to operate on 51.0 MHz FM + 150 Hz as
much as practical for general purpose communications.
I'll only be bringing the fox hunt transmitter if Tom schedules a formal fox
hunt.
If anybody else has 2.4 GHz Selex H4855 PRR squad radios and would like to
play with them, then I'll bring one of mine if you speak up. We played with
them at MRCG many years ago, but I think that everybody who played with them
other than me has either passed away or hasn't been actively participating
in MRCG recently. Like the fox radio, that's another item that I'm happy to
bring if there's a good reason, but don't want to load down the truck with
if it's unlikely to see use.
