[MRCG] Anybody familiar with the R-808/GRC-14 receiver?

 I think it was Al Tipsword W6GER (SK) who brought just the GRC 14 transmitter and not the whole set up. The transmitter is big. Rian had a non working R 808 at SLO this year.

I have an R808,  several years ago someone brought the whole GRC-14 to MRCG. BIG!! The set had a reputation for not being reliable due to the connectors not staying secure during transit. The receiver runs on 24-28VDC  or 110 line AC and it does have the TTY driver built  The manual, I have one, is bigger than an LA Yellow Pages. It must have been the heaviest load ever designed for an M38 Jeep
