Code Wheels
Speaking of Hen's Teeth, the Flea market of the California Historical Radio
Society bestowed upon me a: Radiac Meter IM=108 PD (Army, *circa* 1957)
which turns out to be a 3 MHz crystal controlled transmitter with an 807
output tube ~~ and it is keyed by a code wheel. How it works and what is
does is a long story I'm happy to tell anyone who is interested (
KV6LEE at gmail.com). But we're looking for code wheels, maybe even the same
type. (Did they have to re-invent the wheel? Probably.) It has great
potential as beacon transmitter for at least 80 meters for our station W6CF.
Some have suggested we look to 3-D printing to make one or more up. This
is a viable alternative. The nearest MakerSpace can help.
