John,

Put me down for a talk on the Navy MAK and MO-1 radios. I used these at NC during the Field Day exercises we used to run including a couple at your place.

  MORE INFO: http://www.mrcgwest.org

The 21st Annual West Coast Military Radio Collector’s Group meeting at Camp San Luis Obispo has been scheduled at the NCO Club on Friday and Saturday May 6th & 7th, 2016. Early arrivals on Thursday May 5th are welcome after 1 pm as usual.

Please consider putting together a presentation or display (or both). Please email Mark nf6x at nf6x.net or John boatanchor at martasystems.com if you plan on either one.

The format will remain similar to years past with a couple of changes – here’s a rough schedule of events:

Thursday, May 5 - Early Arrivals after 1 PM to help set up and catch up with friends. A bunch of us usually go to dinner a Jocko’s after setup.

Friday, May 6 – Coffee & donuts in the NCO club starting around 7 – 7:30 AM. The mess hall opens at 6 AM. Radio operations around the base and the local area until 2PM, with a break for lunch at the mess hall. We’re running longer this year so we get more play time with the radios. There will be a 6-meter Fox hunt right after lunch. Presentations will commence at 2pm, and go until we decide to break for dinner. If there are enough presentations, we’ll come back and do a couple after dinner.

Saturday, May 7 – Swap meet starts at 8 AM, ends at 10:57 AM ( please, no Thursday or Friday sales – give those who come just for the swap a chance ). Last year’s JUNKER auction was a big hit, so we’ll do that again at 11 AM sharp. Awards right after all the junk is sold, then off to lunch. After lunch, more radio operations, display tear-down, and NCO club cleanup.

  SPONSORS

We’re asking for commercial or individual sponsors for the coffee mess, and awards for the presentations and displays. $200 for a sponsorship for any of these would be great. All sponsors will receive a T-shirt, appropriate signage and honorable mention.

  T-SHIRTS

This year’s T-Shirt will be a U.S. Navy theme, probably in battleship gray. Same price as last year for quality shirts ( $20 ) – I’ll post the artwork on the website as soon as I have it – it should be available the first week of February. Pre-orders will need to be in my hands no later than March 31, and should be accompanied with a check. Send your check with order details (size and quantity) to me: John Castorina, 675 Dana Drive, Santa Paula, CA 93006

So, any other ideas ? Please email Mark or John.

  See you there !
