Mules: In 1961 China send troops into remote northern India. We (USAF) delivered small arms and pack mules to area. Mules not happy campers flying in C-47, we couldn't do anything with them. Had a Msgt who had been a farrier in pre WW2 horse cavary ( before he became an aircraft mechanic) and a young airman, farm boy from GA. The grabbed the mules by ear, said something to them and up the went into C-47. Gnarly beasts, radios and mules not good match.
