[MRCG] BC-721 and Glider Radio Operations

Pat is correct - t he BC-721 was a radio used within the gliders at times and it was a variation of the BC-611.  

However, I'm not sure how easily it could be removed from the glider for handheld operation.  As I recall, there were several mechanical modifications to remote the PTT and to connect to the antenna and a MIC and Headset arrangement of some sort. I have a manual or appendix to the BC-611/SCR-536 manual someplace that covers the differences.  Will see if I can find it.

The BC-611 in the glider was somewhat different and was the BC-721. 
Same output though.

Thanks for your report! The short and inefficient antenna on the BC 611 is 
clearly its major limitation, especially for air - ground work. 

Yes the link was glider to tow plane, but the radio could be removed if 
necessary for ground use.
