I concur with John on item 2.
The first item sounds like a TU-10B "Tuning Unit" used with a couple of WW2 radio transmitters. The unit actually contained the circuits required to tune the transmitter's oscillator and amplifier stages as well as the antenna. Can provide a lot more information if desired.
