Hello Jack; 
Didn't know your RR ran, VFB! 
Was train crew for years on Snoqualimie Valley RR in Washington. Had to slow down do to health/age etc. 
Had a couple events where my self and another ham volunteer operated CW (modern gear) and demonstrated morse on old RR sounder at the depot. Always had folks looking and asking questions so might be good exposure for MRGG. 
If someone steps up and operates, think about getting 1x1 special event call , W6R W6F come to mind.

Valley Railroad in Folsom, Ca. a 501(c)3 non profit all volunteer excursion

Lodi, Ca. this year and last year and purchased several military 
items...the RR holds an annual RAILFEST in Folsom, Ca. , September 27 & 28
