I have to admit I was wrong and 1996 was the first meet.  I called Ray at ER 
about the April '96 announcement from Ray Mote.

Senior week here, please discount previous pronouncements from this end on 
the subject of when the 20th MRCG event will be held.

The first meeting was held in May 1996 and was meeting #1. This year's event 
was in fact the 19th meeting as previously reported and next year's meeting 
will be the 20th.  Count it out...
