The SCR-522 was , is, a WWII VHF radio set. I think the IFF was BC-645. A
lot of the 645s got used for Ham VHF too.

SCR522 - was a WWII IFF set that transmitted on the 100-156 MHZ VHF band.
The xtal oscillator doubles a bunch of times to get there!

I recently came across a BX-40 Crystal Box with most of the crystals. It
starts at Channel 270 (5675 KCS) and goes to Channel 389 (8650 KCS). It is
missing four (4 ) c rystals , some of which which I believe were the typical
useful 40-Meter rocks. The missing channels are 330 (7175), 325 (7050),
324 (7025), and 322 (6975),

Any idea what radio type this "Rock Collection" was typically associated
with?

Well after looking for a Receive crystal with no luck I am open to the best
method to "grind" one of the ones I have up to the correct frequency.

What is the best way to go with trying this? I have trolled the internet
and found a couple of ideas but wanted to ask if anyone has tried any of
them with any
sucess.

Any ideas welcome.............................

Hi Chuck -

When you get a chance, could you measure the B+ on your RA-62 with no load ?

After getting mine working (recapped, replaced bad bleeder, etc) my no-load
voltage is +465 volts with the power switch in the 125 position. The bias is

spot on at -150, and the filaments seem ok at +14. For comparison, my
dynamotor no-load B+ is 300 v, about what it's supposed to be... hmmm.

Thanks
