Aye - there's the rub.........rotten conditions last weekend here, and not going to get better until I'm officially an OF. It will be efficient antennas that make the difference. I wish the City would put the powerlines underground! My neighbor says OK to hang a wire in his redwood trees, BUT they're on the other side of the power lines..........maybe I could try RF over powerline (RFPL). Capacitance coupling...hmmmmm.......
I/m gonna start trolling hamfests for old mast sections; Plant a 50 footer in the middle of the yard and hang an inverted V or a sloper aimed south.

Jim,
DX-100 is a straightforward piece of hardware. The modulation xformers a known weak spot, though.
As we've discussed before you need to get some wire UP in the air.....
