Jim
Saturday was just about the best I ever heard you that meaning I could understand parts of what you were saying. OPE and TOM across the bay form me I think had a better fix on you.
Your T-17 mic , is it the usual small 3 holes in the mic face or is it like some with the 7 holes that are approx .125" dia. I've found these to work very well.

The 1800 start up worked pretty well, overall. I could hear nearly everyone on the BC-348 until the very end, then I fired up the SP-210-SX and cranked it down tight to one sideband. Tuned around to incoming signals using the BFO.
PS: Tom W6TOM, - Yes the TCS RX is wide unless you have the Depot mod with the CW/PHONE wide and narrow switch. CW Narrow works very well for listening to AM under noisy conditions.
Still fiddling with the neutralization on the 375. It's not quite so obvious with this new MO tube in there. The T-17 I picked up this summer is the hottest of all my carbon mics. Gives the amplified Motorola a run for its money. I'll be listening Saturday!
