Hi Tim -

Yep, it’s time. What you have looks great, with updates for this year. Let me know when you have something to post on the MRCG website.

I’ll start the ball rolling next week to get the advance funds in hand (volunteers, get ready!), and will make arrangements with the base for food and hilltop access.

BTW, I’m already working on a SCR-522 talk and restoring a couple of them for 2m AM ( @ 144.45 – if anyone else wants to play ).

Also - for everyone on the list – If you have a website, please send the URL to me and I’ll install a link in the MRCG website for you.

Subject: Camp SLO pre-announcement

Hi Guys. I'm thinking it's time to get off an announcement to QST and Electric Radio for the May event. Are we still on for the first weekend in May, 3, 4 and 5? Any specifics you'd like me to highlight? This is what I sent to ER last year....(not sure if QST would run an announcement like this but maybe just the event and dates...) Any other publications?

I would also post it on the Military Vehicle Collectors of California forum as well as ARMYRADIOS, ARC5, ANGRY9 and MILSURPLUS forums too.

Announcement:

The eighteenth annual meeting of the West Coast Military Radio Collectors Group will be held at the NCO Club, at the Camp San Luis Obispo National Guard Base in central California on May 3 and 4, 2013.

This popular event includes a swap meet, field operating events, functional displays, technical presentations and Mk 1, Mod 0 Gabfests. Events will begin at 0800 Friday morning, but early arrivals are welcome in the afternoon on Thursday, May 2. Free registration will open at 1800 Thursday evening.

Updated information about this event will be posted to http://www.mrcgwest.org and the email reflector (go to the website to join the email list). Please see the Camp San Luis Obispo web site for more information about logistics and entry to this active base. http://www.calguard.ca.gov/cslo/

Suggested operating frequencies during the meet are 3870 kHz, 3885 kHz and 7293 kHz for AM, 3996 kHz and 7296 kHz for USB, and 29.6 MHz and 51.0 MHz for FM. The use of 146.52 is recommended for simplex operation.

Bring your treasures for operating, trade, sale or displaying! Find some more!

Waddaya think?

Tim
