Hi Chuck - BZ!! 40 meters propagation was pretty good as expected over the
path to SOCAL but also NVIS to Eric in San Fran. Both were about 5-6 S
Units above my local noise and I am using an 80 foot gutter on the roof of
my house for receive (40 meter dipole to transmit). the neighbors must
have all their computers and TV garbage noise sources turned off...
I am still puzzled by the CV-2455 not decoding on receive altho last week
with Mark I was getting partial decoding so something is amiss. Probably
my homebrew Loop-To-TTL interface to the ancient DOS notebook computer. I
guess that's part of the fun - debugging this stuff and relearning how it
works.
Yeah - those TH-5 RATT modems would be fun at Camp Delta. The CV-2455 puts
out either 20 or 60 ma loop signals...We could also run some TA-312's for
an Orderwise circuit too. Just gotta clandestinely lay some wire - maybe
that Helo could help....
I had received some Greenkeys chatter last week (mostly about our poor
choice of 3600 Kc frequency for our first try...Touche....) Seems there
was some interest since there is very little unencrypted 850 cps shift RATT
around for them to listen to these days...The more the merrier...
Thanks for tuning in!
73 es CUL & Good Luck in the Contest...
