Hi Mark et. al. Sounds good. I think keeping on the original Clatternet
freqs makes sense, they are fine. (3587, 7087, 10137)
Apologies for the 3600 Kc experiment 2 weeks ago. I failed to remember
that the phone band expansion a few years back de-allocated 3600 - 3650(?)
from RATT as it had previously been. Our Space tones were out of
band...Duh...No Pink Slip as yet but the USPS service is very slow these
days.....
7087 Kc should be OK between the Bay Area and Riverside at 2030 PDST -
0330Z anyway. The VOA propagation forecast
http://www.voacap.com/prediction.html
shows 99% reliability between the Bay Area and Riverside at that time.
(Variables entered are 25 watts to a dipole at 10 meters, SSB - worst
case. The program automatically downloads and applies current solar data.
100 watts of RATT should have even better SNR) Experience on 40 says that
should be OK too...Should be good out to 1000 miles radius or so...
Unfortunately the prediction shows that propagation to/from our cousins
across the Pond in VK/ZL won't be good then. Let's factor them in if the
Ions and work schedules permit...
I will still be using the PRC-47 with CV-2455 RATT converter but with no
mech machine here, I am stuck with a Glass terminal emulator for now (I
know, Blasphemy - sorry...). Also, this thing does not provide Auto CR and
LF commands so I have to pay attention to my typing and manually enter
those commands at the right column count...And I am not good at
multi-tasking....
Let's give it a go...
Thanks,,Tim
