Military Radio Collectors Group

May 3 & 4, 2013

At Camp San Luis Obispo, California

(draft announcement dtd 2/8/2013, see website for updates)

The eighteenth annual meeting of the Military Radio Collectors Group will be
held at the NCO Club, Camp San Luis Obispo, California on May 3 and 4, 2013.

Events will begin at 0800 Friday morning, but early arrivals are welcome in
the afternoon on Thursday, May 2. Registration will open at 1800 Thursday
evening.

We request that participants refrain from any "swap meet" activities until
Saturday morning. This makes it fair for those that can't arrive early,
minimizes distractions to the operating events and displays, and will result
in a better experience for everyone.

Please bring some of that gear you have been meaning to pass along. With
the reduced numbers of Ham swap meets these days, it is a good opportunity
and it makes the MRCG event much more interesting for everyone.

Updated information about this event will be posted to
http://www.mrcgwest.org <http://www.mrcgwest.org/>

Important: Camp San Luis Obispo is an active military base. To enter, you
must show automobile registration, proof of insurance, and identification at
the front gate. Please see the Camp San Luis Obispo web site for more
information http://www.calguard.ca.gov/cslo/

Secured areas for equipment operation and display will be available inside
the NCO Club, and there is ample room in the surrounding area and the
campground to accommodate outdoor activities.

Suggested operating frequencies during the meet are 3870 kHz, 3885 kHz and
7293 kHz for AM, 3996 kHz and 7296 kHz for USB, and 29.6 MHz and 51.0 MHz
for FM. The use of 146.52 is recommended for simplex operation, W6FM 147.360
repeater in SLO (+ split, 127.3 PL) for coordinating area operations.

Friday Program

Friday will be devoted to equipment setup and display, operating events,
technical presentations, and informal gatherings in and around the
campground. Special activities may include (-tbd-). Equipment will be set up

attract the curious!
