Subject: [MRCG] MRCG Meet Points of Contact for Entry Form
All -
Several folks have asked for the information to use on the Base Entry Form.
Here it is:
1. Please download the base entry form from
http://www.calguard.ca.gov/cslo/Documents/Camp%20San%20Luis%20Obispo.htm and
print it out.
2. Fill out the form with your personal information
3. Then, for these fields please use:
Name of Event: Military Radio Collector's Group
Your Affiliation: Self
CSLO Organization POC: Wendy Osborn 805-541-6168
---
NOTE: If you plan on using the full-hookup RV camping area at the NCO club,
or would like to stay in the barracks, the phone number for RV reservations
and billeting is 805-594-6513
---
Other news: I have been in contact with Lt. Ruiz, chief of Base Operations,
and we now have permission to operate on-base at several locations in
addition to the NCO club. I am requesting Antenna Hill, the Air Museum (at
the gate), and the Mess Hall parking lot. Please let me know ASAP if there
are other areas you would like approved. No surprise visits from the MP's
this year !
----
W7QHO sent this information to me for distribution:
Currently have up to 5 technical talks in the works as listed below. Number
2 looks particularly interesting. Would recommend scheduling it for early
Friday morning or late in the afternoon so the field activity guys can take
it in too.
*********
1. Bjorn Forsberg, SM5UR/W6 -- R-354 spy radio
2. Ralph Simpson
Military Cipher Devices - a Century of Diversity
Overview of a wide variety of cipher devices used by the US military for the
past century. This will include a short presentation of the technology and
history of the major types of cipher devices, with a demo of some the
devices. All devices presented will be displayed for later examination by
the audience. Types of devices could include:
* M-94 cipher wheel
* M-209 cipher devices
* SIGTOT transmitter/distributor for the teletype one-time tape
* IFF code wheels
* KY-57, KY-68 and KY-28 voice encryption devices
* GRA-71 burst encoder
* KAL-55B Whiz Wheel
* Navajo code talkers radio (I know, the cipher device was the Indian,
not the radio)
* Maybe some others, suggestions welcome
3. Steve Hudson, KI6BSQ - Electromagnetic Wave Propagation
4. Jim Falls, KG6FWT -- BC-348 trouble shooting (possible)
5. Dennis DuVall, W7QHO -- MO-1 and MAK (If I get it together in
time...)
If you would like to give a presentation, please email Dennis at
w7qho at aol.com
