I think its better to confine attachments to a place on
the web site. There are two problems with allowing
attachments to a mailing list; one is that some people are
still on slow services, I am still on a dial-up (have to fix
that) and the other is that a specific place on the web site
allows easy archiving of material so that its easy to find.
The MRCG site already has places for photos, manuals,
software, etc. I belong to other lists that use this method
successfully.
